With its thatched roof, exposed beams and beautiful garden, this Grade II listed property is the quintessential English cottage - and the perfect base to explore this stunning part of island.
Ready to explore? The charming village of Brighstone is a short stroll away. Here there’s a bistro, a general store for tasty island produce and a pub selling hearty food. Or how about visiting the golden sands of Brighstone Beach? Yours within a fifteen-minute walk, it’s a wonderful spot for a sandy stroll. Something more energetic? This area is fantastic for walking and cycling. Footpaths from Brighstone lead up to the Down, where the hilltop walk to Freshwater Bay offers jaw-dropping views. Alternatively take the coast path along the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay. Oh and bring your camera. It’s just a short drive to The Needles, one of the UK’s most spectacular coastal sights.
As for the cottage itself, it’s worth getting excited about: a 300-year old Grade II listed cottage that blends traditional features with spectacular modern furnishings. A stable door leads you in to the property and the spacious lounge area. Make yourself at home with ample comfortable seating, a TV/DVD and French doors that can be opened to the garden. The kitchen has all you need to rustle up something tasty: an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, freezer as well as a dishwasher and washing machine. After which you and your guests can eat together in the dining area with oak table and chairs. The ground floor also features a shower room with shower and WC as well as a spacious double bedroom. The rope-handrailed stairs lead up to two more bedrooms - a charming double and a twin with views out across the garden. (An extra single bed can be added to the twin by request.) Also upstairs is a bathroom with WC.
Outside the property there’s a beautiful, expansive garden with small rockeries and a lawn. Again the views across the neighbouring fields add to the quintessential English cottage feel. There’s plenty of garden furniture if you’d like to dine alfresco and a barbecue for those balmy summer evenings. Bringing your car to the Isle of Wight? There’s private off-road parking for two cars beyond the neighbouring property as well as plenty of room to park in the quiet close outside the cottage.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
