You can smell the sea from this traditional stone cottage in Beadnell, a quintessential Northumberland coastal village composed of a pretty harbour, sandy bay and huge dunes.
Beadnell may be small, but it’s most definitely a perfect formed holiday village. And your property is right in the middle of the action, only steps from two dog-friendly pubs, a village shop and a patisserie – which transforms into a lively bistro at night – and a general store. Beadnell is a paradise for cyclists and walkers, who can enjoy the stunning, golden sands that stretch for miles along the rugged coastal path. This connects Beadnell Bay to some of Northumberland’s most iconic villages and landmarks: Seahouses, Bamburgh and Holy Island in the north, as well as Low Newton, Embleton and Craster to the south.
You access the impressive, double-fronted cottage through the front door and enter an inviting lounge with wooden flooring, wood burner, two large sofas and French doors opening out to your own patio. This is the heart of the property, a real home from home to return to after a day on the beach, where you can relax by watching a DVD, listen to some music on the CD or simply unwind with a book from the shelf. The contemporary, tiled kitchen includes a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, plus a dining table seating up to six. Up a flight of stairs you will find a trio of tasteful bedrooms: a master king with double wardrobe, a double with chest of drawers and a bunk bedroom. The bathroom features a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside you will find a raised patio area with garden furniture including a wooden table and chairs, the intimate space enclosed by high walls and enhanced by mature plantings. There is off-road parking at the front of the cottage for two cars.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
