Description

Stunning stone cottage in the idyllic Nannau Estate near Ganllwd, an area of SSSI, and Dolgellau. Enjoy the activities and attractions of the coast and countryside in Snowdonia and North Wales.

Set in a peaceful location in the Nannau Estate, close to Coed Y Brenin mountain forest park, the valleys of rivers Mawddach, Eden, Gain and Wen, and the National Trust site in Ganllwyd. The park offers the finest mountain biking in the UK, with waymarked trails for both cycling and walking, past rivers, gorges and waterfalls, with visitor centre, shops, cafe and play area. You can go fishing at Trawfynnedd, whilst adrenalin seekers can head to Go Ape High Wires, Zip World Slate Caverns and the National White-Water Rafting Centre, all close by. Visit local towns with eateries, shops and attractions such as historic Dolgellau, Bala with its lake, Barmouth with its beach and Harlech with its Castle, an all year-round destination.

Park the car and walk past the babbling stream to this fabulous stone cottage, refurbished in 2019, with all your creature comforts such as underfloor heating, a wood burner, stylish bathrooms and all the thoughtful touches to enhance your stay. The door opens into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with exposed beams and lovely features. The kitchen area is well-equipped to rustle up a meal, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine is in the utility room with drying area. Gather round the dining table to enjoy a meal together, maybe play a board game after dinner or just catch up on your day. Relax in the lounge area on the chairs and sofa, plan your holiday activities or watch a film on the TV, for cosy nights in light the wood burner and lose yourself in a good book. Also, on the ground floor is the lovely king-size bedroom with French doors to the garden and the stylish en-suite shower room and WC. Upstairs, on the first floor, choose from two single bedrooms, both are spacious and designed for a good night’s sleep. Or why not unwind in a bubble bath in the lovely bathroom with freestanding bath and WC.

Outside there is plenty of space to relax and embrace the views. Enjoy al fresco dining on the patio area with table, chairs and BBQ, sit by the stream or help yourself to seasonal produce from the garden. The enclosed garden is mostly laid to lawn, surrounded by the open garden and woodland, a great spot to watch the stars. If you are bringing your bikes there is room in the utility and garden shed to store them. There is also off-road parking at the property for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
