Description

This semi-detached cottage is set in beautiful surroundings and is just a short walk from the fabulous area of Hardy's Monument in wonderful West Dorset.

There are stunning far reaching views from the cottage, you can see miles across the countryside from both the dining room and bedrooms. Nearby Hardy’s Monument stands on an exposed location above the village of Portesham and was built in 1844. It is shaped to represent a spyglass or telescope that Admiral Hardy would have used on board ship and has tremendous views across the Dorset countryside and coast. Take a short drive into the vibrant town of Dorchester which is 6 miles away and offers a range of amenities including shops, weekly markets, restaurants, pubs and museums. The popular seaside town of Weymouth is just 7 miles away, take time to sit and have a drink and watch the amazing old Harbour with all its boats and ferries or jump on one to visit Guernsey for the day. Discover Dorset's amazing Jurassic Coast from your cottage - within easy reach are Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seatown, Bridport, Abbotsbury and Weymouth to name a few musts to visit. There is something for everyone on your doorstep whether it be the interesting coastline, the pretty villages with dog friendly pubs, the abundance of water sports, fishing, golf or fossil hunting.

On entering the entrance hallway in the cottage, a door on the right leads you into the kitchen which is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a kitchen table ideal for breakfast or supper. Heading further along the hallway you will find the downstairs bathroom on your left which has a shower over the bath and WC. At the end of the hallway is the lounge which is a lovely space to relax with family and friends in front of the TV/DVD and snuggle up in front of the open fire during the cooler winter months. The lounge leads into the light and airy sun room which has a large picture window to take in the fabulous far reaching views over the farmland and countryside beyond. In the sun room there is ample space for six around the dining table where you can enjoy leisurely meals and some additional comfortable seating. Going upstairs there are three bedrooms, firstly a double room with an en-suite shower room and two twin rooms.

Stepping outside from the sun room is a spacious enclosed decked area with seating which is perfectly positioned to take in the wonderful rural views. Outside the property there is ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
