The tranquil village of Newton Ferrers boasts a small harbour, good pub, shop and tea room and is popular among bird watchers and sailors with its slipway and mooring. Depending on the tide, walk or catch a ferry across the River Yealm to Noss May and explore the 35 minute stoll through the pretty woodland to Celler Beach, where dogs are welcome, you will also find a good selection of pubs and amenities in Noss Mayo. Enjoy exploring the river by hiring paddleboards, rental is based in Newton Ferrers (subject to availability). For a great day out in the car, head to some nearby beaches of Mothercombe, Wembury and Wonwell or take a trip to Plymouth, which boasts a cinema, theatre and wide array of shops, restaurants and cafes.
