The market town of Barnstaple is a short drive away from the house, with shops, cinema, pubs, restaurants and a theatre for guests to visit. The North Devon coast is also within easy reach, surfers and sunbathers alike can enjoy the sandy beaches of Croyde, Saunton Sands and Westward Ho! The wilds of Exmoor are a favourite with hikers, with many walks for them to choose from. For a family day out, guests can visit The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Arlington Court, RHS Rosemoor and the nearby Tapeley Park where you will be inspired by the idyllic Italianate terraces and kitchen gardens. Cycle or walk the 180-mile Tarka Trail, a former railway route; stop at the cafe in Fremington Quay’s old station house which also serves home-cooked food.
