The bay has a rocky headland at its western end and when the tide recedes you can explore the rock pools, exposed caverns and multi coloured rock face. The area provides a rich feeding ground for various bird species. The beach is popular with kite-buggies and kite surfers and its gentle gradient also attracts bathers. Because of the ease of access for cars it is a popular spot for picnics and also for motor boats and water bikes which have a special zone designated for their use. Access onto the beach for disabled people is good.
