Enjoying a tranquil location, this characterful period house is the perfect base for family and friends to relax and enjoy time together, at any time of the year.
Located in a peaceful location and well placed for exploring the area. For trips to the North Yorkshire coast, visit the old smugglers haunts of Robin Hood Bay, or further up the coast, climb the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey or venture further afield to the Yorkshire Dales and the spa town of Harrogate. Within walking distance from the property, through the private wood is a path leading to Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Forces Memorial. Also close by is York Maze, the largest maze in the UK. York offers an array of visitor attractions including the renowned York Minster and the Railway Museum as well as an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, and shops and the York Race course.
An imposing entrance hall welcomes you to the house, venture off to the left, which takes you into the drawing/games room with plenty of fun board games to enjoy, kick off your shoes and sink into the comfortable chesterfield sofas in front of the impressive open fire. Venture off to the right, which takes you through into the fabulous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where the attention to design and detail is superb. The kitchen area is equipped with two electric ovens and an induction hob, steamer oven, built in microwave, two dishwashers, fridge with ice compartment, island and breakfast bar. There is a cosy seating area in front of the wood burner where you can enjoy afternoon tea and discuss where to explore the following day or simply enjoy watching a film on the TV/DVD. Leading through the archway takes you to the formal dining area to enjoy a lovely meal together and relax. Also off the kitchen area is the utility room with American style fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser, washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading back to the entrance hall you will find a separate WC and turn staircase leading up to the first floor with four bedrooms. There are two king-size, one twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a king-size on request) and 1 twin. Also on this floor is one bathroom with shower over the bath and WC (which can be locked off and used as an en-suite bathroom to the adjacent king-size bedroom) and one shower room with WC.
Heading outside there is an extensive enclosed garden with lawn, summer house with patio furniture for al fresco dining and a charcoal BBQ for those warm summer evenings. The garden also has a fire pit to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and those clear night skies. The icing on the cake is the private wood where you can take a walk amongst the trees, admire the flora or why not take your four-legged friend along with you. There is ample off-road parking for four cars within the horse shoe turn driveway.
