Attractive cottage sleeping up to five guests, enjoying a tranquil location on the owner’s country estate on the edge of Coniston Water, offering extensive gardens, lakeside meadows and a private jetty.
This cottage is one-of-three situated on the owner’s lakeside retreat on the shoreline of Coniston Water in the picturesque Lake District. The cottage is perfectly situated for those who want to spend some time on the lake, as visitors are able to use the property’s private jetty to moor their own boat, or one they have hired from the nearby Coniston Boating Centre, from where it is also possible to hire stand-up paddleboards, canoes, and even bikes. Adventure activities on dry land can be arranged here too, with the centre offering guided sessions in gorge scrambling, archery, and rifle shooting. The village of Coniston lies just 1.5 miles from the property and is a great place to stock up on supplies, or enjoy meals out in one of the village pubs.
Guests staying at this property are in for a real treat, and that is clear as soon as they make their way through the estate grounds towards the property’s front door, which opens directly into the cosy lounge. The fireplace with its warming wood burner makes an attractive focal point in the room, whilst there is also a TV/DVD and iPod dock which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofa and armchair. A door from the lounge leads through to the spacious kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. Those who need to clean clothes whilst away will find the washing machine and tumble dryer in the separate shared laundry room. Stairs from the lounge lead to two bedrooms on the first floor, the first of which is a tastefully-finished king-size offering an additional single bed, making this room perfect for a couple with a young child. The second bedroom is a pleasant double room, near to which is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
There is a fantastic amount of outside space with this property, which there are extensive shared grounds comprising lawns, meadows, and a private shoreline on Coniston Water. There is also a private jetty available which is suitable for craft measuring up to 26ft and can be used at an additional charge of £25 which includes a 4x4 tow if required. There is parking provided for two cars, as well as bike storage for which guests will need to use their own padlock.
