Description

A fabulous rural retreat for family gatherings and special celebrations with exceptional leisure facilities, set in open countryside with sea and mountain views.

Located only a short distance from the picturesque village of Strathcarron (0.5 miles), this wonderful holiday home enjoys a countryside setting, surrounded by farmland and open skies. Stroll around the village, stopping in the welcoming hotel bar for a wee dram or tipple of choice. Make sure you take your picture at the UK's first red selfie box which can be found next to the fish and chip shop. Bag yourself a munro with a hike up Beinn Liath Mhor (6.5 miles) or Sgorr Ruadh for splendid views across the Torridon mountains and the Highlands beyond. Explore the Highland garden at Attadale Gardens (3 miles) and find the perfect spot to picnic and watch the Highland Cattle graze. Further afield, explore the idyllic Highland villages of Plockton (15 miles), Shieldaig (19 miles) and Applecross (25 miles).

Enjoying an elevated position on a family-run farm and estate; surrounded by open countryside, your holiday home that was purpose-built in 2010, is the ideal destination for special occasions and get-togethers. Drive through the estate to reach your stunning white-washed rural retreat, step out of your car and breathe in the invigorating mountain air. Step into the spacious front entrance hall with floor-to-ceiling window, interesting artwork and sculptures, and staircase leading to the first floor. There's bags of room to greet your guests and exchange warm welcomes before heading through to the rest of the house. Leave your coats, shoes and walking boots in the boot room after a long walk along the river. Spend sociable evenings in the drawing room mixing cocktails at the wet bar or warming yourself in front of the traditional wood burner on cooler evenings. With large windows overlooking the grounds, the family living room is a light and airy space with snug sofas and cosy chairs for you to curl up in and watch a movie on the home-cinema system. Formal meals and celebratory suppers can be enjoyed around the elegant table in the dining room which comfortably seats all guests. Your kitchen is also a great room for socialising, with a large wood table for sharing hearty breakfasts and pretty window seats to sit with a coffee and chat to the nominated chef. Your kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a meal of locally bought produce including an electric oven AGA, gas hob, American-style fridge/freezer with ice maker, larder fridge and microwave. Two dishwashers are provided for your convenience. The handy utility room is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer to stay on top of the laundry and there's also a useful shower room with WC for freshening up after a long walk. The ground-floor twin bedroom is a pretty room benefitting from an en-suite shower room. Take the main staircase to the first floor where you will find five bedrooms leading from the spacious galleried landing. Two super king bedrooms are tastefully decorated in soothing tones with beds dressed with thick duvets and plump pillows. Both of these rooms have contemporary en-suite bathrooms. A further spacious super-king bedroom enjoys an en-suite shower room and the twin bedroom with bunk beds also boasts an en-suite shower room. The final bedroom on this floor is another cosy twin bedroom with bunk beds and there is a family bathroom accessed from the hall. A separate staircase leads to the final first-floor bedroom, a king-size with en-suite shower room, perfect for those who prefer a bit more privacy.

Spend your evenings in the Ceilidh Barn, a superb space filled with amusements to while away the hours. Host a family snooker or pool tournament, get competitive with table football and table tennis or place your bets at the roulette wheel. The barn comes complete with a bathroom and kitchen area making this the perfect spot for a party and a dance. The 58” TV is great for movies and you can stay warm in the heat of the large wood burner. If you can tear yourself away from the barn, there are two all-weather tennis courts for your use and 2.5 miles of salmon fishing on the River Carron is available by arrangement with the estate. You have two patios to choose from, both with views across open farmland to the sea beyond making these lovely spots to sit and enjoy an al fresco drink as the sun sets. There's plenty of space on the lawn to stretch out your blanket for an al fresco picnic or for garden games.

Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
