Enjoying an elevated location within a cluster of traditional cottages, this charming detached barn is the perfect base for family and friends to relax and enjoy time together at any time of year.

Hidden away within 30 peaceful acres of farmland, this lovely wooden barn makes it ideal for children to explore, or simply enjoy a stroll across the meadows. This location is a haven for bird-watchers, with sparrow-hawks, woodpeckers, kites, buzzards and partridges all spotted nearby. Situated a short distance from the rural village of Ewyas Harold, complete with excellent village shop, first rate fish and chip shop, high class butcher and inns. Guests are spoilt for choice with walking routes and pony trekking across the Black Mountains. Offa’s Dyke trail is also accessible nearby and offers spectacular views. Enjoy canoeing along the River Wye. Further afield lie the Brecon Beacons with rock climbing and serious hiking available for the more adventurous. An ideal base for touring from, with the market town of Abergavenny which has a regular farmers market on the last Thursday of the month and the world famous Food Festival in mid-September every year. For history lovers, Grosmont Castle and White Castle are located nearby, along with Abergavenny Museum. On your way to the Beacons you will pass through Crickhowell, which lies in the Usk Valley. Take the spectacular drive up the Llanthony Valley through the Black Mountains and over to Hay-on-Wye which has an eclectic range of book shops and the internationally renowned Hay Literary Festival every May. Travel north to the beautiful city of Hereford with a good selection of independent shops as well as well-known high street brands, ancient black and white houses and the cathedral which is home to the Mappa Mundi, the largest medieval map known in the world. 

Leave your walking boots behind and take a step back in time. The large and inviting hallway with vaulted ceilings showcases the rustic charm of this lovingly restored barn and is the perfect welcome for all that come and stay. The hallway leads you to the hub of the barn, the kitchen/diner traditional in style and further enhanced with rustic beams and exposed stone, is well-equipped and ready to bring out the best in any cook, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, small fridge and dishwasher. There is also a utility room on this floor with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and WC. Take the stairs down to the lounge, with low ceilings, exposed beams and wooden framed windows offering views across the countryside, light the wood burner and get together on the sofas and enjoy a movie on the Smart TV/DVD with FreeSat or listen to your favourite music via the Bluetooth wireless docking station which is iPAD, iPhone and iPod compatible. Wi-Fi is available and included for your holiday. When the day is done climb the stairs where you will find four bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite shower and WC, a double and two twin rooms, there is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC on this floor.

This detached Grade II listed barn is surrounded by thirty acres of beautiful Herefordshire farmland. Roam freely in the adjacent fields, play in the dingle where there are overturned tree trunks to climb on and a rope swing, climb higher for a picnic with views across to The Skirrid, Garway Hill and The Greig or use the well waymarked footpaths. A children's den hideout has also been lovingly created in the dingle for endless hours of fun and games. Closer to the barn, there is a small enclosed garden with table and chairs accessible from the back kitchen door, perfectly placed to enjoy the summer sun, and also a fire pit/BBQ for your delectation. There is off-road parking for three cars available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
