But there is more to the town than books, and visitors may be pleasantly surprised to find that there is also a good range of cafes and restaurants, as well as independent shops. The Globe in Hay is host to a vibrant calendar of arts that runs throughout the year. Also set on the banks of the river Wye where you can enjoy paddling at The Warren the local beach or further down the river hire a kayak at Glasbury. For walkers and cyclists head to the Brecon Beacons National Park where you will find plenty of walks and places to explore by bike.
