This quaint 17th century Grade II listed barn has been lovingly renovated retaining many original features. Its village location provides a great taste of rural life.
Conveniently located on the Dorset and Somerset border on the B3145 providing easy access to the historic towns of Wincanton, Sherborne and Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill. Enjoy beautiful circular walks direct from the property through quiet country lanes and fields with views across stunning countryside. Enjoy a day at Wincanton races four miles. Countless day trips include Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Sherborne Castle, National Trusts Stourhead and Longleat Safari Park. If you fancy a change of scenery take a trip to the seaside town of West Bay and the Jurassic coast. Or, if you wish to explore further afield Templecombe train station is 3.5 miles and offers a main line to the South West.
You are welcomed into the delightful accommodation through the stable door where you will be greeted by the lounge/diner which is bursting with original features including exposed beams and flagstone flooring. In the summer, you can open the stable door to let the outside in and in the cooler months create a cosier feel with the wood burner. Here you can relax on the comfy sofas while watching your favourite programme on the TV or a DVD. The well-equipped kitchen has a second dining area, an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites. Heading upstairs are two bedrooms both with original beams. The spacious master bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom is a twin. The bathroom is also on this floor and has a shower over bath and a WC.
Venturing outside you will find yourself in the gravelled courtyard which is shared with the owners neighbouring property where a warm welcome awaits, yet privacy is assured. Here you will have your own outside seating, which is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee, or a glass of wine in the evenings. Off-road parking for one car is immediately opposite the property within the courtyard.
