There are sandy beaches on both sides of the River Esk, and you can also enjoy breathtaking cliff-top walks. There are pretty coastal villages nearby including Sandsend (3 miles), Staithes (10.5 miles), Runswick Bay (8.5 miles) and Robin Hood's Bay (6 miles), or you could head inland to explore the romantic North York Moors (2 miles).
