Description

These romantic shepherds’ huts are hidden away in a clearing in the woods up above the owner’s medieval farm, surrounded by nature and beautiful views across the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A pair of private, romantic shepherds' huts with incredible walks straight from your door and a good pub close by. Hand-crafted by the owner from local hillside timber, Spring Farm's authentic shepherds hut, winners of a county award, are situated in a hawthorn-fringed meadow, which becomes a sea of bluebells in late spring. With a stunning panoramic view down the whole length of the Bryn Awr Valley to the Brecon Beacons - one of the loveliest vistas in Wales. Crickhowell, is just a short drive away with great independent shops, pubs and coffee shops. In the market town of Abergavenny, you will find a Norman Castle, farmers' markets and the fabulous Food Festival each September. Brecon, Hay-on-Wye, Cardiff and Hereford are all in easy reach, as well as Wales Industrial Heritage sites in Blaenavon. Nearby attractions include The River Usk in Crickhowell for trout and salmon fishing with day licenses from The Bridge Inn Pub. The River Cafe in Glasbury is the top canoe rental spot co-located with Wye Valley Canoes. There are also a selection of good riding centres within easy reach.

The first hut has picture windows on both sides and pastel-shaded panelled walls, whilst its blissfully soft double bed has generous storage space beneath. A table and two comfy armchairs complete the furnishings, together with a wood burner to keep you toasty in the winter months. The adjoining second hut has two rooms which comprise of a fully-fitted kitchen complete with stove, oven and fridge. There is a separate bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and loo.

The shepherds' huts are positioned within 30 acres of the owner's farm and smallholding, which was awarded a certificate of recognition at the Powys Business Awards, offering a welcoming greeting with lots of friendly animals on site. The owners are always on hand to help with anything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Outside the huts, there is a private enclosed garden area with neighbouring livestock, garden furniture and a fire pit which is perfect for toasting marshmallows.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
