Alternatively, those who enjoy beaches and watersports will only be a short drive from the beautifully rugged North Devon coast, famed for its sand and surf and both Meldon Reservoir and Roadford Lake, offering fishing and walks. There are also numerous traditional market towns and villages to explore in the area such as Hatherleigh and Great Torrington.
