Talgarth is situated nearby (6 miles) has a restored and working Mill, selling artisan flour and bread, it’s open for tours, with a cafe situated next to the river selling delicious lunches and cakes. There is also George’s butchers, which is over a hundred years old and sells local free range meat and if you need a pint of milk, it also has a Co-Op. Talybont-on-Usk, a village (3 miles) has two pubs, lovely walks along the canal and into the deeper countryside, notably the waterfall walk, which starts just after the reservoir. The lovely town of Brecon, with its must see cathedral (9 miles) and the beautiful towns of Crickhowell (7 miles) and Hay on Wye (15 miles), known as the book town, are all a short drive away. All three places have lots to explore, with lovely shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Tower House has a spacious kitchen, with a flagstone floor, stone fireplace, wood burner and welcome pack filled with local produce. To the side of the kitchen is a outhouse/utility room with washing machine, BBQ for use in the garden and a second fridge, its lockable and big enough to safely store bikes. There are two telescopes in here and it is an ideal spot to stargaze in the Dark Skies Reserve. A living room has another open fire with a traditional Victorian fireplace as well as a large TV and comfortable sofas for a cosy evening in. There is also a convenient downstairs toilet. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one king-size and one double with great views across the valley, and one twin bedroom with an en-suite.
