The local village of Wheddon Cross is 2.5 miles away and has a local shop and pub and is most renowned for its displays of little white flowers in February each year.
Visit the medieval town of Dunster with its variety of shops cafes and castle.
Other points of interest include the West Somerset Steam Railway Valley of the Rocks and Lynton and Lynmouth with the iconic water-powered cliff railway.

This comfortable shepherd's hut boasts everything you could want for a luxurious getaway for two.
Stepping inside you will find a stylish living space incorporating the lounge kitchen diner and sleeping area.
The lounge area has a warming wood burner two comfortable chairs and a large coffee table ideal for your morning coffee as you look out through the double doors to the decking and countryside beyond.
The kitchen area is equipped with everything you may need including a mini gas oven and three-ring gas hob plus a small fridge.
A stable door leads out to a side area off the kitchen where there is a log store.
There is a modern wet room with a large shower cubicle washbasin and WC.
The whole property has underfloor heating making it a great spot to stay at whatever time of year.
The bedroom area is thoughtfully designed with a king-size bed that invites you to put your feet up and relax as you soak up the fabulous views.
Outside the property is a large decked area with a picnic bench and sun loungers.
Additionally there is a fire pit with logs provided as well as your own private wood-fired Swedish hot tub which will be lit ready for you to use.
Exmoor is situated in Europe's first Dark Sky Reserve and in the hot tub you can soak quietly as the unspoilt skies slowly fill with stars.
There is ample parking but depending on the weather you may have to park up and walk to your hut which would only be a 5-minute walk (a trolley is provided for your luggage).
