This fantastic detached cottage is located in the quiet village of Barningham, near Barnard Castle with walks in every direction. The village itself has a traditional country pub, bakery, grocery shop and tea room. There are a few farm shops too, also with cafes and outdoor play areas. A short drive brings you to Barnard Castle, with its bustling high street full of quaint shops, pubs and cafes, as well as the impressive Bowes Museum. Further afield you will find the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond, great for strolling along the cobbled high street and castle walls. Nearby attractions include The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the medieval Raby Castle with a deer park and the magnificent waterfalls at High Force.
Inside this truly delightful stone cottage, you'll find a real home from home with a cosy country interior. Open the front gate and head along the path, past the gravelled front garden. Step inside the hall, hang your coat and head through to the wonderful inviting lounge/diner; the bay window at the front ensures plenty of light and views of the village green outside. At the heart of the room is a wood burner, ready and waiting for you each evening after a day's walking or sightseeing. Light the fire and settle down on one of two comfy sofas: it's time to relax. For your evening entertainment, you'll find a Smart TV. The dining table sits in the main living area, a lovely spot for eating whatever the time of day and there's plenty of room for up to five people. The lounge leads into the kitchen at the rear of the cottage where you'll find everything you'll need to rustle up dinner including an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer and a handy utility room with a dishwasher and washing machine, essential if you have children running about in muddy fields. When it's time to turn in, head up the stairs to the first floor where there are three bedrooms to chose from: a king-size, a double and a single all with TVs. Also on this floor is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
Outside is a south-facing gravel front garden catching the full day's sunshine and offering views of the green beyond. Take your meal outside and dine alfresco. Roadside parking subject to availability.
