Appleby is a great stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway route and even now, many of the country’s steam trains make their way over the historic Ribblehead Viaduct and past Long Marton Station. The Dales High Way is right outside, and the property is perfect for walkers or hikers too, being close to the Pennine Way and nestling in the beautiful Eden Valley. Ullswater is just a short drive and the magnificent Lake District, or head east to the Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland, and north to the Scottish Borders – they are all within easy reach, making this a perfect holiday location.
