The famous Chatsworth House and Gardens along with Haddon Hall are within 10 miles and well worth a visit too. See the landscape from up high by taking a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car at Matlock Bath, just 2 miles away. For an afternoon of exploring, the pretty market town of Bakewell (13 miles) on the River Wye is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Situated next to the A6 and accessed via the M1 motorway or the railway stations at Matlock or Whatstandwell, this property is a great base for exploring the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park.
