A stunning period cottage in the small historic town of Clun, perfect for exploring the beautiful Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit attractions in Ludlow, Stokesay and Ironbridge.
This historical town is full of unique buildings, its own museum, pubs, shops, cafes and 13th century castle ruin with an abundance of history, as well as the ancient Packhorse Bridge, alongside its festivals throughout the year. Explore this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the southern Shropshire Hills, just perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, cyclists and keen walkers alike with many trails on your doorstep, such as the Shropshire Way, Jack Mytton's Way and Offa's Dyke. There are lots of things to see and do in the area such as hang gliding on the Long Mynd, events in the foodie town of Ludlow with its castle, the multitude of museums at Ironbridge Gorge, or Stokesay Castle to name but a few.
The house was built in 1714 and is full of period charm. As you enter into the hall, there is plenty of space for your coats and walking boots. Just to the right is the lounge which has a comfy sofa and a wood burner that you can rest beside while you watch a film on the Smart TV after a day exploring the local area. Continue through to the spacious kitchen which is well-equipped to rustle up some home-cooked food. You'll find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. Just through the kitchen is the dining room where you can plan your days ahead and, on a nice day, open the patio doors to let in the fresh air whilst enjoying views across the garden. On the ground floor, there is also a walk-in shower room with a WC. As you head upstairs, there are two lovely rooms to choose from; the first is a double with a intriguing hidden en-suite shower room with a shower and WC (please note that due to the style of the property there are sloping ceilings and some reduced head height in this room). The second bedroom is a spacious twin with lovely views to wake up to. Please note that the staircase is steep and may be unsuitable for those with mobility issues. There are some uneven floors upstairs due to the age of the building and the en-suite has a low doorway through to the shower.
Outside, there is a large garden with a paved patio, garden furniture to enjoy al fresco drinks and meals, and a charcoal BBQ. Beyond here is the stepped garden, with a herb garden, fruit trees, and an orchard with a wildlife garden and a vegetable patch with seasonal veg along with summer fruits. The gate at the bottom of the garden allows for convenient access to the local playing fields and children's park. There is a free car park with plenty of car parking spaces nearby. There is a lockable store for bicycles and roadside parking available (subject to availability).
