A beautifully presented cottage in the sleepy village of Marykirk in Laurencekirk. Great for guests that are looking to visit the numerous beaches in both Aberdeenshire and Angus.
Set with the River North Esk as the boundary that separates Aberdeenshire and Angus, this property is ideally placed for those looking for a base from which to explore both areas, including the Angus Glens and Royal Deeside. The river - which is within walking distance of the cottage - is renowned for salmon fishing (permits available to purchase in the local area). Wildlife enthusiasts should visit the Montrose Basin, a nature reserve that is home to over 80 thousand migratory birds – including pink-footed geese, Arctic terns and sedge warblers. Visit the coastal village of St Cyrus (6 miles), with its volcanic cliffs, beautiful sandy beach and its variety of wildflowers, insects and birds that make it one of the richest and most diverse nature reserves in Britain. The area is also popular with golfers as there are several courses within easy reach.
The property entrance leads into a hallway, where the lounge and kitchen are located at the rear of the building with the bedrooms closer to the main entrance. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a double electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave and washer dryer. There is a dining table for four people, and a door that provides access out to the garden. The lounge is cosy, with comfortable sofas where you can sit and relax in front of the smart TV and electric fire in the evenings. The master bedroom contains a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (that can be made up as two singles on request) and has been beautifully furnished and decorated with neutral tones throughout. The twin bedroom with two single beds that make it an ideal space for children and adults alike. The bathroom completes the property with a shower over the bath and WC.
Heading outside, the cottage has an open garden that is mainly laid to lawn with equipment in place to play putting. There is a boundary stone wall that separates the garden from the road that runs through the village, but please note that the gravel driveway is completely open at the opposite side of the property. The small patio area has garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, with a lockable shed that is suitable for storing bikes during your stay. There is sufficient parking for up to two cars on the driveway.
