A host of country pursuits within easy reach include walking, fly and sea fishing, pony trekking, game and clay pigeon shooting, bird watching and mountain biking. Porlock, Lynmouth and Lynton make enjoyable days out and there are sandy beaches at Woolacombe and Putsborough.
