Cranfield Beach, located in County Down, is a popular destination for families and water sports enthusiasts, offering a unique combination of sand and shingle and stunning views of the Mourne Mountains.

Cranfield Beach is a curved, south-facing beach that offers a mix of sand and shingle, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and water activities. The beach is situated in front of Cranfield Bay Holiday Park and provides excellent views of the mouth of Carlingford Lough, the surrounding Mourne Mountains, and out to Haulbowline Lighthouse.

The beach offers a range of facilities, including toilets, showers, and a free car park. A café is also available, serving a variety of food and drinks. Additionally, the beach is equipped with a large children's play area, making it an excellent destination for families. Further facilities, such as shops, places to eat, and accommodation, can be found in the nearby town of Kilkeel, approximately 4 miles to the north-east.

Cranfield Beach is a popular spot for a range of water sports, including swimming. Lifeguards are on duty every day in August between the hours of 11am and 6pm, providing an added layer of safety for visitors.

The beach is easily accessible, with parking available along Ameracam Lane, including disabled parking. A ramp provides access to the beach from the car park. The beach is located near the town of Kilkeel, making it an ideal destination for those looking to combine a beach day with exploring the local area.

Cranfield Beach is a very child-friendly destination, with a range of facilities and activities available to cater for families. The promenade provides spectacular views of the Mourne Mountains, making it an excellent spot for a family day out.
