Drummore Bay has a sand and pebble beach and a north-facing harbour. It lies on the east side of the Rhins of Galloway, a few miles north of its southern tip. The beach looks out to the north-east, towards the Scottish mainland, from the southern end of the Rhins of Galloway Peninsula.
The area enjoys a milder than expected climate, thanks to the Gulf Stream, allowing some varieties of palm tree to grow here. This gives the area an almost Mediterranean feel, with palm trees overlooking the beach.
The beach and town, with its small harbour, are particularly popular for boating enthusiasts. Walking is also a common pastime in the area, with a popular walk taking visitors to Drummore Castle. The beach is backed by a grassy area, offering excellent views of the surrounding coastline.
Roadside parking is available in the town, and the beach can be reached via a slipway. The town also has a choice of places to eat out.
