Tresta Sands is a picturesque beach located near Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, Scotland. .
Tresta Sands is a long, white sand beach situated in a sheltered cove, making it an ideal location for families. The beach is characterised by its stunning cliffs towards the south end and gentle slope, allowing for relatively safe swimming. Behind the beach lies a large area of flat grassland and Papil Water, a freshwater loch that offers seasonal trout fishing.
The beach is a long crescent of white sand, protected from the open sea by Lamb Hoga to the south. Access to the beach is easy, and its gentle slope makes it suitable for swimmers of all abilities.
Tresta Sands hosts the annual Feltar Foy festival, which takes place on a weekend close to the summer solstice in June. This event is a celebration that occurs when the sun doesn't set, making it a unique experience for attendees.
