Caister Point features a sandy and pebbly beach that stretches for miles, backed by dunes and low sandy cliffs. The beach is part of the small family beach resort of Caister-on-Sea, which offers all the usual facilities and entertainments, but is quieter than its southern neighbour, Great Yarmouth.
The resort of Caister-on-Sea is a small coastal town with a quieter and less developed beach than many of its neighbours on the East Norfolk coast. The beach is popular with visitors who want a more relaxed beach experience. Just offshore is the Scroby Sands Wind Farm, which has the capacity to supply 41,000 homes with electricity.
Visitors to Caister Point have a fairly good chance of spotting seals in the water, from the nearby colony at Horsey. The beach is very dog-friendly, with no restrictions on dogs and plenty of space for them to run along the shore. There is a lifeboat station, manned entirely by volunteers, at the southern end of the beach, with its own visitor centre nearby.
The water quality at Caister Point is good; however, there is no lifeguard on duty.
Golfers can play a round with a sea view at Great Yarmouth and Caister Golf Club. There are holiday and caravan parks along the beach front for holidaymakers throughout the year. A car park is located close to the seafront, behind the Lifeboat Station off Beach Road.
