Grizedale Forest is a vast area of ancient woodland through which wonderful walking and cycling routes can be followed, passing sculptural pieces and woodland creatures along the way. Head to nearby Coniston Water to hire a rowing, sailing or motor boat, or stick to dry land and climb the Old Man of Coniston, which towers above the lake offering splendid views from the top. One mile from the property, the village of Satterthwaite is home to a popular pub which serves hearty meals and hosts the occasional festival and live music event.
Tall glazed double doors open into a welcoming hallway with slate floor and timber staircase where you can leave coats, boots and bags before continuing through to the large open-plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen is contemporary and well-equipped and the dining area beyond features a large farmhouse style table and comfortable armchairs nearby for reading. Also on the ground floor is an airy king-size bedroom and adjacent modern shower room. The spacious sitting room is located on the first floor, offering wonderful river and woodland views. Furnished with plump sofas, interesting artwork, occasional lighting and a TV, this is a homely space for unwinding after a long day. The second king-size bedroom is situated off the sitting room with a further shower room next door.
Outside, there is a small private patio garden with delightful bench for soaking up the sunshine. Behind this, a charming terrace area overlooks the beck and makes for a romantic spot for enjoying an evening drink or al fresco meal.
