Charming 1800s cottage with period features, garden, lake views and within walking distance to pub in Radnor Valley. Perfect to explore the heritage, culture and countryside in the Welsh Marches.

In Llanfihangel-nant-Melan in the Radnorshire hills with delightful walks from the doorstep to suit all abilities from short to long walks. Stroll to the local pub, head to the village of Old Radnor with 15th century Welsh longhouse pub or pop to Llandrindod Wells, a Victorian spa town, boasting a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Explore the Mortimer Trail and walks to Hergest Ridge, inspirational for Elgar and Mike Oldfield. Head to Presteigne with the Judges Lodgings or to Ludlow with its castle. Visit Stokesay Castle, Hampton Court Gardens, Hergest Croft Gardens and National Trust’s Powis Castle and Gardens. The area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists to explore Radnor Valley, the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Shropshire Hills.

This delightful house is full of period charm, exposed beams, flagstones floors, feature fireplaces, a quirky staircase and interesting objects, with all the thoughtful little extras for your holiday. The porch opens into the cosy lounge, welcoming you with the comfortable sofas, stone inglenook fireplace housing the wood burner, TV and a selection of books. Walk through to the kitchen/diner with the dining table taking centre stage with space for everyone to gather round and enjoy a meal together. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher with all the extra equipment you need to rustle up a meal if you decide to eat in. After dinner, relax in the lounge and plan your activities or watch a film on the TV. Around the corner is the lovely bathroom with bath and WC, and the double bedroom, designed for a good night’s sleep. Up the wooden staircase to the first floor you will find the further three beautiful bedrooms to choose from, another double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, with exposed beams and lovely views to wake up to. After a full day out, relax in a hot bubble bath in the second bathroom with bath and WC.

Outside, the house is surrounded by the enclosed garden with lawn, trees and gates to the lake and into the paddocks. This idyllic spot is perfect to unwind and embrace the view or to enjoy a morning coffee or al fresco dining on the picnic benches on the patio. If you are bringing your bikes, there is a shed with storage space and hose to wash them down, there is also off-road parking at the property for four cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
