However, there is more to the town than books; it boasts a good range of cafes and restaurants, as well as independent shops. The Globe in Hay is host to a vibrant calendar of arts events that runs throughout the year. The town of Hay is set on the banks of the River Wye where you can enjoy paddling at The Warren, the local beach, or hire a kayak further down the river at Glasbury. Walkers and cyclists head to the Brecon Beacons National Park where you will find plenty of rambling routes and places to explore by bike.
