Arch Bay is a small bay and beach area situated on the northern coast of Alderney, the third largest of the Channel Islands. The bay is separated from Corblets Bay at high tide by a rocky promontory, but at low tide, the two bays are connected. The beach is backed by grassy areas and sheltered by surrounding rocks, making it a relatively safe spot for bathing.
The main section of the beach is composed of pristine sands, making it an ideal spot for building sandcastles and other beach activities. The water is relatively calm, and during the warmer months, taking a dip is thoroughly enjoyable, although there is no lifeguard service. The sea is also home to a variety of aquatic life, including fish, starfish, crustaceans, and colourful seaweed. Visitors can also enjoy views of two Victorian-era fortresses from the bay, which serve as a reminder of Alderney's rich history.
The beach at Arch Bay is connected to the Saye Bay Camp Site via a small tunnel with an arched entrance, which is how the bay gets its name. The tunnel provides a convenient link between the beach and the campsite.
