This is the WWII pillbox on Dunster beach itself (the others set back from the beach). It was in a poor state of repair for some years and has at last been renovated but also impossible to get inside because of mesh screens. Like a number along this stretch of coastline, its brick construction is coated with pebbles from the beach – not only a free and very readily available material, but also good for camouflage, of course.
