Dunster South East Beach is characterised by its large expanse of sand and shingle, providing a wide open feel ideal for long walks and various beach activities. The beach offers stunning views out across the water towards South Wales.
The beach is equipped with a large picnic area, making it suitable for families and groups. Visitors can drive their cars onto the beach, and parking is also available at the end of Sea Lane. Additionally, the beach is easily accessible for those with mobility difficulties, as vehicles can be parked immediately next to the beach.
Behind the beach lies "The Hawn," a body of water that was once a navigable channel and now serves as a freshwater lake, providing a haven for bird life. Although there is no lifeguard on duty, the beach is used for bathing during the summer months.
The 5-mile long West Somerset Coastal Path passes the beach, making it a popular destination for walkers throughout the year. The historic West Somerset Railway steam train service is also nearby, with Dunster Station being a short walk from the beach.
The beach is surrounded by holiday chalets, offering a range of accommodation options for visitors. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round, making it a pet-friendly destination.
