Groomsport Beach is 10 minutes drive from the centre of Bangor.

The beach is located adjacent to the small harbour. Also by the harbour and beach are Cockle Row Cottages Tourist Information Office. Groomsport is near the National Trust Nature Reserve of Ballymacormick Point with a walk that leads to Ballyholme Beach.
