Lydstep Beach, also known as Lydstep Haven, is a picturesque beach consisting of sand and pebbles, backed by impressive wooded cliffs at either end. At the north end of the beach, a small sandy area is exposed at low tide. The beach is located within a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is part of the Pembrokeshire National Park.
The beach has an entrance fee to use its facilities, which include jet skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, amusement arcades, and a leisure centre. Visitors can also explore a number of caves at low tide, including a smuggler's cave. For those who do not wish to use the facilities, a free National Trust car park is available within walking distance on the southern headland of the beach.
Nearby Penally Beach, technically part of Tenby South Beach, offers a more wild and less developed experience, with dunes, open views, and fewer people. This beach is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a more rugged coastal experience. The Pembrokeshire coastal path, which forms part of the Pembrokeshire National Park, is also popular with walkers and offers unrivalled views of the coastline.
Lydstep Beach is adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
