Beneath the sky, where the sea winds wail,
Tall ships glide with billowed sail.
Their prows adorned with steel and might,
They carve the waves in bright sunlight.
From distant shores, where fires burn,
The armies come, and tides do turn.
Banners snap in the salt-kissed breeze,
Shadows stretch on calm seas.
Oceans tremble, the heavens roar,
As war steps firm upon the shore.
The clash of steel, the cries of men,
Echo loud—and fade again.
For tall ships sail, and tall ships go,
Carrying tales of war and woe.
But in their wake, the waters gleam,
Whispering peace, as if a dream.
As an island nation we are familiar with threats and even invasions coming from the sea.
