Silverknowes Beach is a popular sandy beach located close to Edinburgh, offering stunning views of the Firth of Forth and a range of amenities for visitors. .

Silverknowes Beach is situated north-west of Edinburgh city centre, between Leith and Queensferry, and is easily accessible from the airport. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles, and is backed by a golf course and recreational fields. Visitors can enjoy views out across the Firth of Forth, with Cramond Island lying just off the beach.

Cramond Island is an uninhabited island that contains the remains of various former military structures. The island is linked to the mainland by a tidal causeway, and a noticeboard at the landward side of the causeway provides information on safe crossing times. Visitors are advised to pay close attention to tide times when planning a trip to the island, as it is not uncommon for people to be stranded by the incoming tides.

Parking for the beach can be found at the western end of Marine Drive, from where a pathway leads past woodland to the shoreline. A 3-mile long stretch of promenade runs alongside the beach, and it is possible to walk down the promenade all the way to Cramond Village, where facilities can be found. The beach itself has a coffee shop, and an outdoor beach gym for those looking to stay active.
