Barassie Beach is a long, wide, and mostly flat sandy beach, situated within North Bay and to the north of the Port of Troon. The beach's expanse varies greatly depending on the tide, with a vast area available for visitors to explore at low tide, and most of the beach covered by water at high tide.
The beach is separated from the main road and the town of Barassie by a grassy plain, ideal for walking and offering views of the Firth of Clyde. Troon Harbour is located to the south and is visible from the beach. Visitors can access the beach via a car park along Beach Road in Barassie, with additional amenities including public toilets and a picnic area.
For those seeking additional facilities, such as shops, restaurants, and pubs, the nearby towns of Barassie and Troon offer a range of options. Both towns have railway stations along the Ayrshire Coast Line, providing frequent services to Glasgow. The surrounding area is also home to several golf courses, including the Municipal Golf Club and Kilmarnock Golf Course.
