Description

Stylish and quirky cottage with garden, in Clynnog Fawr village close to Nefyn. Perfect to unwind, enjoy activities and discover the very best coast, countryside and attractions on the Llyn Peninsula.

Travel back in time to visit this Welsh village shrouded in history. Located on the North coast of the Llyn Peninsula just outside Snowdonia National Park, “the place of the holly trees” encompasses the rich cultures of bygone eras whilst sitting in a central location to explore Nefyn, Pwllheli, Caernarfon, Porthmadog and Abersoch. All offer a range of shops, galleries, pubs, restaurants, cafes, attractions, events and stunning beaches. Enjoy sea swimming, sailing, surfing and canoeing or head to the superb links golf courses. Visit the Maritime Museum, high profile boating events at Hafan Pwllheli Marina, Caernarfon marina and Castle, Lloyd George Museum, Criccieth Castle and National Trust Plas yn Rhiw. The cottage occupies a neighbouring site to that of St Beuno’s parish church. The site is said to be that of a Celtic monastery founded by Beuno in the early 7th century that was later pillaged and burnt by both the Vikings and the Normans.

Park your car and wander up the path to the porch and back door or round to the front and into the hall. Hang up your coats, take off your walking boots or sandals and start to relax. Ahead is the fabulous galley kitchen, well-equipped with electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, combi-microwave and dishwasher creating a lovely space to rustle up a meal. You will find the washer/dryer in the porch with lots of other useful items. The dining room, with oak parquet floors and hand-crafted staircase up to the lounge, is flooded with natural light with the dining table taking centre stage for you to gather round, enjoy a meal or play cards and board games after dinner. The welcoming twin bedroom with views toward the garden can also be found on the ground floor with a twin zip-and-link bed (which can be made up into a super-king-size on request). Enjoy a bubble bath or take an invigorating shower in the stylish bathroom and dry off with lovely soft towels. In this reversed level quirky cottage, you can relax in the lounge on the first floor with views over the garden and towards the coast. Settle down on the comfortable sofas, plan your holiday activities or watch a film on Sky TV or on the DVD player. If there is a nip in the air put on the coal burner effect electric fire set in the feature slate fireplace and lose yourself in a good book or watch the sun set over the sea. The second bedroom leads off the lounge and has been designed for a good night’s sleep with the comfortable king-size bed. The property is full of period features, interesting objects and all the thoughtful little extras to enhance your stay.

The garden is a delight, attracting wildlife with specimen plants and shrubs, water feature, cobbled walkways and lawns. The paved patio area, with table and chairs, is the perfect spot to unwind after a full day out, enjoy al fresco dining, maybe a BBQ, and embrace the stunning views from sunrise to sunset. If you are keen on cycling and bringing your bikes there is lockable storage in the yard. There is ample private parking at the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
