Porthcawl's Trecco Bay is a popular destination for families and beachgoers alike, offering a sheltered sandy beach and a range of facilities within a nearby holiday park. .

Trecco Bay, also known as Bae Trecco, is a spacious sandy beach located on a low limestone headland approximately twenty miles from Swansea. The bay faces south towards the Bristol Channel and is approximately 650 metres wide at its widest point, with limestone cliffs on either side. The beach is part of the "7 Bays" of Porthcawl and is situated within the Trecco Bay Holiday Camp.

The beach itself is mainly rock and sand, with sand sloping gently to the sea and fringed by a shingle bank at the high tide mark. While there are no facilities directly on the beach, the nearby holiday park offers a range of options, including mini golf, amusement arcades, and the Splashland swimming pool. Non-residents can usually purchase a day pass to access these facilities. Public toilets and a small car park are also available at the back of the holiday park.

From 1 October to 30 April, dog owners are welcome to exercise their dogs on the beach. The water quality at Trecco Bay is excellent, making it suitable for paddling and swimming. A lifeguard service is also available during the holiday season, and the beach is a regular winner of the Blue Flag Award.

The nearby town of Porthcawl offers an extensive promenade with a small funfair, Coney Beach, as well as numerous bars, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy views over the Bristol Channel and explore the town's many amenities.
