Just outside the town, Braunton Burrows and Crow Point provides a lovely backdrop for scenic seaside walks and a short drive away Saunton Sands boasts an expansive sandy beach. Further afield, sand, sea and surf can be enjoyed at Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. Walking enthusiasts will also be spoilt for choice with the nearby South West Coast Path, taking you across the spectacular headland to Baggy Point and the rugged walks around Mortehoe. Other places of interest nearby include The Tarka trail a haven for cyclists, historic Barnstaple, with its pannier market, Exmoor National Park and the seaside resort of Ilfracombe.
This stunning Grade II listed cob cottage has been lovingly restored while embracing a stylish and vibrant look and feel with plenty of character and quirky touches. It was one of the earliest dwellings in the village and still retains many of its original features like the inglenook fireplace with baker’s oven, ancient oak beams and barn doors. The cosy lounge with original beams has comfy seating for everyone and is the perfect place to snuggle up in front of the converted gas wood burner and watch a film on the Smart TV with Netflix or on the DVD player, listen to your favourite tunes on the docking station or get the whole family involved in a good old fashioned board game. There is a display cabinet in the lounge with cocktail making supplies including shaker, glasses and cocktail recipe books. Heading further into the property is the open-plan kitchen/diner, filled with light thanks to the semi glazed roof you can enjoy the views out over the rear courtyard, garden and beyond. The kitchen area has absolutely everything you need to cook those tried and tested family recipes with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher plus a range of picnic ware. The dining area has seating for everyone and is ideal to have a relaxed family meal. Heading up to the first floor you will find the master bedroom with double bed, and two single bedrooms. Step outside into the rear enclosed garden onto a lovely sheltered deck area with seating for everyone and a charcoal BBQ, fire pit, blankets and fairy lights. Old stone steps lead up past the annex and onto an impressive very large lawn area with orchard and little summer house. A two-man hammock and sun loungers are provided as well as a selection of outdoor games, body boards, a basketball hoop, paddling pool and croquet for the family to enjoy. There is no parking in-front of the house, but there is roadside parking (subject to availability) or several car parks (charges apply) are just a short walk from the property.
