Croyde Bay is a picturesque sandy beach situated on the North Devon Coast, offering a range of activities and amenities for visitors.

Croyde Bay is a sandy beach resort, approximately 670 metres wide, backed with dunes and sheltered by the surrounding hills. The beach is set in a wide sandy bay between Woolacombe and Saunton Sands beaches. Despite being a little tricky to find and in a rural setting, Croyde is one of North Devon’s most popular beaches.

The beach is backed by a fabulous sand dune system and situated within a bay. A stream flows across the beach to the sea, and the surrounding hills offer protection from the wind. The sand at Croyde is fine and golden, becoming firm and compacted towards the shoreline, making it ideal for sandcastles and surfing.

Croyde Bay is a hugely popular surfing beach, with west-facing shores that produce steep, powerful waves when the sand banks are right. The beach has a seasonal lifeguard service and a range of facilities, making it appealing to all types, from families to hardcore surfer types.

The beach has multiple cafes, plenty of car parking, and a lifeguard service during the summer months. The Croyde Gem, Rock & Shell Museum is close by, featuring minerals, rocks, and shells from around the world. The beach is dog friendly between 1 October and 30 April, but restricted during the summer months.

Croyde Bay is located on the north coast of Devon, with Baggy Point to the north, great for walking and rock climbing, and Down End Point to the south. The beach offers stunning views of Lundy, a Marine Reserve, which can be spotted from the shore.

Croyde Bay is on the North Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
