Putsborough Beach is situated south of Woolacombe on the north coast of Devon. The beach forms the southern section of Woolacombe Sands and stretches for three miles, with golden sands extending north towards Woolacombe and Morte Point and south towards Baggy Point.
The beach is approximately 780 metres wide and is backed by sandy hills. It provides superb bathing on the Atlantic coast and excellent surfing between the two headlands, namely Baggy Point to the south and the headland near Woolacombe to the north. Putsborough is popular with surfers, especially longboarders, and is the only beach in the area to have some protection from south and south-westerly winds, thanks to Baggy Point.
The beach offers plenty of parking and easy access via a long, sloping path. There are RNLI lifeguards on duty during the summer, and lots of water sports activities are available. The beach is popular with families and is quieter than nearby Woolacombe, with fewer facilities available. Dogs are allowed on the beach between 1 October and 30 April.
Putsborough Beach is on the North Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
