Northcott Mouth Beach is a 3-mile stretch of sandy beach situated between Sandymouth to the north and Crooklets to the south. The beach is backed by a valley with a river running across it, creating a picturesque landscape. At high tide, the sand is covered, exposing a rocky cove that is subject to Atlantic swells. The beach is popular with families seeking to escape the crowds of nearby Bude.
The beach is owned by the National Trust, who operate a small car park. Facilities are limited, with only a caravan selling tea and coffee during the summer months. The beach is exposed, with rock pools and potentially hazardous currents. At low tide, the beach reveals a pebbly shoreline with sand and unique rock formations known as the Bude Formation.
Northcott Mouth Beach is a popular spot for surfing, with its exposed location making it susceptible to Atlantic swells. Visitors can also explore the rock pools and enjoy the natural scenery.
