It is a sandy beach resort, approximately 440 metres wide, backed with sand dunes. The River Neet flows across the beach to the sea. At low tide Summerleaze is connected to Crooklets Beach to the north, and rock pools are exposed.
Bude Summerleaze Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
