Boscastle is a small, traditional Cornish village that boasts a beautiful natural harbour. The village is characterised by its sheltered and safe environment, with moored fishing boats adding to its charm. However, visitors should be aware that parking options are limited. The village is also an excellent starting point for coastal walks, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
Located just north of Tintagel, Bossiney Haven or Bossiney Cove is a secluded sandy cove that can be accessed via a short walk from the village. The cove is situated on the North Cornwall coast and is a notable point on the South West coastal path. To reach the beach, visitors must navigate a set of steep steps, although the path may be subject to closure due to rock fall, so it is essential to check the latest advice before visiting. The beach is completely covered at high tide, but at low tide, the sand is exposed, allowing visitors to walk to the neighbouring Benoath Cove. A small waterfall on the side of the cliff is a notable feature of the cove.
Visitors to Bossiney Haven or Bossiney Cove should be aware that there are no lifeguards on duty, and the currents can be strong. However, the beach is dog-friendly all year round, making it an ideal destination for pet owners.
Boscastle Beach is on the Pentire Point - Widemouth Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
