Bossiney Haven Beach is a secluded sandy cove located on the North Cornwall coast, known for its stunning coastline and unique tidal characteristics.
Bossiney Haven, also referred to as Bossiney Cove, is a sheltered sandy cove situated just north of Tintagel. The beach is surrounded by beautiful coastline, making it an excellent spot for walking enthusiasts, particularly those walking the South West coastal path. The cove features a cave waiting to be explored and is accessible via a short walk from the village along a path through a farm, followed by steep steps down to the beach. However, visitors are advised to check for the latest information on access, as rock fall can lead to closure.
The beach is characterised by its complete coverage at high tide, with the sand only exposed at low tide. This unique feature allows visitors to walk around to the neighbouring beach at Benoath Cove when the tide is low. The beach also features a small waterfall on the side of the cliff, adding to its natural beauty. However, visitors should be aware that there are no lifeguards on duty, and the currents can be strong.
There are several amenities available near the beach, including pubs and a campsite within a mile. The beach is dog-friendly all year round, making it a great destination for pet owners.
Bossiney Haven Beach is on the Pentire Point - Widemouth Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
