Set close to the quintessential fishing villages of Appledore and Clovelly, Hartland Peninsula is known for its amazing landscape and has played host to many TV and Film productions. Drive to either Devon’s Westward Ho!, or Cornwall’s popular Bude with miles of sandy beaches to spend memorable days surfing, swimming or sunbathing. With Devon’s most famous adventure parks The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and North Devon Wake Park only a few miles away, kids of all ages, teenagers and adults will have an unforgettable day out. This charming single-storey cottage conversion is quietly situated on a small holding, nestled down a tiny track at the bottom of the valley just outside Hartland village with its own private driveway. Park and unload beside the barn and step up some external steps and into the open-plan retreat.
Upon entering the beautiful single storey accommodation, you are greeted with a gallery corridor which leads you to the bathroom, two cosy bedrooms and the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with the views over the valley. In the summer you can open the double French doors to let the outside in, or in the cooler months snuggle up on the comfy sofa and watch the seasons change while watching your favourite programme on the Smart TV with Netflix. The well-equipped kitchen area has a Rangemaster gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites. There are two immaculate bedrooms, the forest bedroom has a king-size bed and is designed to bring you back to nature and offer a cosy night in. The leaf bedroom is a super-king-size bedroom with zip-and-link beds, which can be made into a twin on request. This bedroom looks out into the garden. The Victorian style bathroom has a rainfall shower over the deep claw-foot bath and WC.
Venturing outside through the French doors from the open-plan living space is a large terrace which overlooks the valley and down to the river it is perfect for outdoor dining, relaxing, stargazing or watching the wildlife. Guests will find seating, a swing chair, pizza oven and a gas BBQ. In addition to the terrace is an enclosed garden great for both children and dogs to play safely. From your doorstep, you can explore 20 acres of private woodland, pasture and meadow ideal for a summer picnic or an autumn stroll. Take a walk to appreciate the countryside, listen to the birds or dip your toes in the river, build a den or switch off surrounded by wildflowers, or take the footpath by the entrance for a stroll to Hartland Abbey or a longer walk to the magnificent Hartland Point or Quay. There are handy external hanging racks for wet suits and boots, as well as a hot water tap, perfect for washing muddy paws and boots. There is also off-road parking available at the property. For food lovers there is plenty of choice, with some of the best restaurants in the South West nearby.
