The beach at Littlehampton Sea Road is predominantly composed of shingle, but as the tide recedes, large areas of sand are revealed. The beach is situated adjacent to Littlehampton Harbour and features a promenade with a large grassed area behind it. The River Arun flows across the beach at its western end.
The beach is a popular destination for families, with a range of facilities and activities available. These include a theme park, fair, and various places to eat. The award-winning 'East Beach Café', designed by Thomas Heatherwick, is located on the sea front. The beach is also a favourite among kitesurfers and watersport enthusiasts, who can participate in activities such as canoeing, windsurfing, surfing, sailing, and jet skiing.
The beach has designated safe swimming areas, making it a family-friendly destination. Dogs are allowed on the beach from September to April, but are restricted from May 1st to September 30th.
Littlehampton East Beach, also known as Littlehampton Coastguards Beach, is another popular beach in the area. This sand and shingle beach is a favourite among all age groups and offers a range of facilities and activities, including a funfair and theme park.
